Moonlight Run 10km

Saturday, March 17th, 2018

Lethbridge, Alberta

My first race of 2018 and I’d say my first big race postpartum. Our long winter made for interesting conditions, but I fought hard and managed a 47:13! This was good enough to get 3rd in the 30-34 age group. I was 3/28 in age group, 11/188 gender and 45/377 overall.

Kodiak 10/4 Road Race

Saturday, April 7th, 2018

Lethbridge, Alberta

In the latest edition of “The Never Ending Winter” I chose to run the 10 mile road race. My goal with sub 1:20 (8:00 min/mi pace) and I was very close with a 1:20.39. With the small turnout due to weather, I snagged 2/5 in the 30-39 Age Group, 2/16 Female and 10/38 overall! The $50 gift certificate I earned will go towards a new pair of shoes for Berlin Marathon training!

Star Wars 10km & Half Marathon

Saturday, April 21st & Sunday, April 22nd

Walt Disney World, Florida

Double race weekend and I went out with big goals. Exceeded my 10km goal with a finish time of 44:58. This was good enough for 2/940 in 30-34, 10/6005 women and 70/10925 overall. In the half, I was a bit slower than my goal (probably due to pushing hard the day before and also the humidity) but still ran a 1:50.35. I was 16/1447 in division, 67/8153 gender and 437/15100 overall. I earned the Kessel Run medal for doing the Virtual Half and also earned the Dark Order Challenge medal.

Lakeview Superhero 5km

The 3rd annual event and I managed to run my best time in the last three years! I ran a 21:57 which was good enough to place 7/95 overall, 2/41 in women and 1/9 in my age group.

Woody’s RV Red Deer Half Marathon

Sunday, May 20th, 2018

Red Deer, AB

Set out a lofty goal back in January to run this race in the 1:40s. Had some trouble midway through with my calves still feeling super tight and not wanting to move. Had a second wind the last 5km of the race and was able to finish strong with a 1:42.28, which happens to be my second best race time at this event (the year I went to Boston I even ran 4 minutes slower than this!). Finished 55/446 overall, 7/88 in age group of 30-34 and 14/240 females.

Willow Creek Wilderness Run 10km

Saturday, May 26th, 2018

Fort Macleod, AB

Trail runs are tough! My feet felt like they were sinking into the gravel and grass the whole time. Total appreciation to those who race trails often! Small race, managed 2/46 OA, 1/29 gender and 1/11 age group with a slow-for-me time of 47:48. Now time to recover from two weekend in a row of racing!

Coulee Cactus Crawl

Saturday, June 2nd, 2018

Lethbridge, AB

This was a last minute decision as 2 days before the event I joined a relay team in need of a 5th runner. I ran Leg 2 of the relay and we ended up finishing 3rd in the “Mixed Under 40” division! Lots of fun!

Ladiesfest 8km

Saturday, June 9th, 2018

Lethbridge, AB

My first time at this race was last year while pregnant, so I knew I’d beat that time…but wasn’t sure by how much! I ran a 36:46 in this 5 mile (8km) race. Was 4/730 OA, 1/117 and AG (which is same as gender as this is a women’s only race). The year before I ran this race in 43:51 while I was around 19 weeks pregnant! SUCCESS!

Firecracker Four

Wednesday, July 4th, 2018

Hales Corners, WI

The 40th year of this annual 4th of July event was a must for Dan and I while visiting family in Wisconsin. The heat and humidity was absolutely awful, but I was able to run a 27:54 (pace of 6:58 a mile). So close to getting a medal, but I did finish really well regardless with 4/81 age group, 14/546 female and 99/1124 overall! USA!

Travelling Beer Garden 5km Series-Grant Park

Thursday, July 12th, 2018

South Milwaukee, WI

I switched what race I was doing this day because of timing and location. I am very happy I ended doing this race, as it was the right mix of people and the one female in front of me pushed me to achieve an unofficial personal best! My 5km time on my watch was 20:30, however course measured 3.16 miles on my watch so a 20:50 would be my chip time. I was 1/21 in my age group, and 2/74 female and 8/156 overall. This really boosted my confidence!

BMW Berlin Marathon

Sunday, September 16th, 2018

Berlin, Germany

My first overseas event! What a crazy couple days in Europe! While I didn’t reach my goal time, I had a blast with friends and my husband. Finished with a 3:46.52. I now have 3 of the 6 Abbott World Marathon Majors under my belt

Lethbridge Police Half Marathon

Saturday, September 29th, 2018

Lethbridge, Alberta

What an ego boost! Just two weeks since Berlin, I ran my 2nd best half marathon ever! It was good enough to net me 2nd female, win some cash and feel really proud. 1:37.39

Coalhurst Family Fun Run 5km

Saturday, October 13th, 2018

Coalhurst, Alberta

Last minute race for Dan and I. Was supposed to do this last year at 37 weeks pregnant but was given the no-go from my OB/GYN. It was my first official stroller race with Andy! Really happy how it went, even though course was poorly marked and measured 3.03 miles. 1st place female overall!! 22:51.

Claus Cause 10km

Saturday, November 17th, 2018

Lethbridge, AB

This has been a yearly event for myself. Last year I did the 5km as my first postpartum race. Was going to do 5km again this year and push Andy but got convinced to do 10km by some friends. Not anywhere close to my best time, but the 46:34 was good enough for 1st female overall. End of the 2018 racing season!
