Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend-Goofy Challenge
Saturday -Sunday, January 7th-8th, 2017
Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida
The goal for this race was different than my previous ones. I was there to support my best friend as she completed her first full marathon. I helped her achieve that, with a time of 6:39.51. She is a marathoner! The marathon was part 2 of the two-part Goofy Challenge, where the half was supposed to be on Saturday. It will now be the infamous “Lightning Half” as it got cancelled due to lightning. I did, however, do the 13.1 miles after the storms cleared that very afternoon. So, my unofficial Walt Disney World Half Marathon was finished with friends who were down doing Dopey Challenge, and we finished in 2:22.43. This weekend will be reminisced on and remembered fondly.

Given the roller coaster 2017 has been, I opted to run the 6km instead of the 10km. Was able to place 3/140 in age 30-34, 10/1360 female and 44/2055 overall. My first 4 km were solid but then I slowely ascended Wendy’s hill, so my pace was no where close to what I am used to. But it’s a start of a comeback!
Secret is out! I ran this shorter distance because I was over 7 weeks pregnant!
Saturday, April 8th, 2017
Tackled the 4 mile course for the first time; I have done the 10 miler 3 different occasions, so this was a nice change of pace. It was a windy time on the out-and-back course. I managed to run a 30:57 and snagged 1/26 in my age group, 2/102 females and 13/155 overall! My 2nd place female earned me a gift certificate to Runners Soul!
Over 10 Weeks Pregnant!
Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Medicine Hat, Alberta
Third time running this race…but first time pregnant! I made my pregnancy official earlier that week, so it was public knowledge this race day. Ran at a good pace, but definitely slower than “normal”. Still was able to score a 3rd place in my age group with my 52:40. 3/25 Age Group, 13/83 gender and 52/152 overall.
Over 13 Weeks Pregnant!

Fun local fundraising race for the husband and I. My time was right where I was hoping: 25:57! 4/16 in age group (just missed!), 7/48 gender and 28/91 overall. Husband rocked a 20:28 and earned 1st overall!
Exactly 15 Weeks Pregnant!
Calgary Half Marathon
Sunday, May 28th, 2017
My goal for this race was to get a sub 2 hour half marathon, and I was right on the money with a 1:59.12! Obviously a far cry from my personal best, but I am proud of this time while running for two! Placed 824/2683 overall, 260/1478 in females and 60/277 in my age group.
More than 17 weeks pregnant!

First time every participating in Lethbridge’s Ladiesfest. Just under 700 runners took part in the event, and I held my own! Ran a 43:51.88, placing 72/696 and 8/113 in my 30-34 age group! Can’t wait to crush this time next year!
More than 19 weeks pregnant!
Millarville Half Marathon Relay
Saturday, June 17th, 2017
Black Diamond to Millarville, Alberta
I had done this half marathon twice before, but this was the first for the relay! I ran the first 9 km and my husband ran the second 12.1 km. Team “The Wife Signed Us Up…” placed 7/48 in the relay division with a time of 1:43.50. My portion was a 48:26.08 and Dan’s was a 55:24.57.
More than 20 weeks pregnant!

The 25th annual Taber “Fun Run” with both a 5 km and 10km portion. Opted for the 5km because I was honestly expecting it to be brutally hot! Cool temperatures arrived overnight and I was able to run a very respectable race: 28:02! I had 4/23 in my age group (but was two minutes away from 3rd so I’m not mad….couldn’t have gotten that!), 11/98 gender and 35/158 overall. Not a bad way to end the summer!
More than 30 weeks pregnant!!!!
Saturday, September 30th, 2017
The 5th annual event took place on a fantastic fall day, with cool temperatures and no smoke in the air! Forest fires are gone! First time doing the 10km, and I beat my goal by a lot! Ran a 1:02.50, well below my goal of just being under a 1:10.00. With being this far ahead in the pregnancy game, I’ll take it! Placed 101/182 overall, 64/133 in female and 27/51 in my category.
More than 35 weeks pregnant!
Saturday, November 18th, 2017
This would mark my first race postpartum. I went out pretty ambitious in mile 1, and had to ease up in miles 2-3. Splits were 7:14, 8:03, 8:14 with a final time of 24:41. This was good enough for 20/192 OA, 3/131 gender, and 1/54 AG! It was a great confidence builder, showing me that all my running during pregnancy paid off.
Just over 4 weeks postpartum!
